What's the point of having Europa League when half the teams aren't in the game?

Last year they added some euro teams after they qualified, but that came in an update later on

So hopefully they will come at some point

No Celtic? Won't get PES this year (for the first time ever) if that's the case.

This is only a current list based on the preview code. It's by no means final at this stage.

The game is out in a few weeks surely they know all teams which will feature in the game. Shocking if Celtic aren't in it.

How would it be shocking? Many other 2nd line European teams aren't in the game as well. Celtic will 70% be in the game, they were probably awaiting the qualified teams for CL and EL before licensing them.

Also, most vids don't seem to work Bees?!

Same. Also if it's not a final list putting it out without teams like Celtic or even missing any teams from other European leagues that may well appear before release seems counterproductive as it's going to put people off when they can go buy a game today that includes not only their team but the rest of the league too.

Would you really want to play through a career campaign as celtic in the spl though? That sounds as much fun as actually watching the spl

This is hugely disappointing news on the whole licensed team front. Its like Konami have given up trying to compete with EA and gone "ah were never gonna win this so lets not even try".
Its good to see more south american teams but its like Konami have totally given up on Europe or any European teams! The Champions League is the biggest club competition in the world and Konami obviously believe so otherwise they wouldn't have stuck a deal with UEFA for the rights to the competition! It just smacks of defeatism when there just not trying anymore. To illustrate this point have a look at the following list of the teams in both the Champions League and Europa League for 2014/15

AaB (DEN) - Licensed
Apollon (CYP)
Asteras (GRE)

Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) - Licensed
Sporting (POR) - Licensed
Zenit (RUS) - Licensed

32 teams 22 Licensed = 68% Licensed teams

The teams for each competitions are known by the end of August each year. Its not hard to know who will be competing as the entry list for both competitions and when clubs enter the respective competition is released back in June! There is plenty of time to negotiate agreements. Many of these clubs don't feature in EA so what is the problem here. Its totally shocking that less than 1/3 of Europa League teams are licensed and another 1/3 of teams remain unlicensed in the Champions League. Neither the AFC Champions League or either of the South American competitions suffer such low license rates!

Also, I doubt very much they will add any more teams before the games released. Your only hope is future patches.

All players are licensed in every team. There are fake names in the Brazilian teams but it'll be fixed. fishcake's post, as per usual, didn't make any sense.

Yeah, didn't notice it. Sorry fcb.

Still doesn't make any sense to me, every player has their real name there. What does licensed players mean?

I wouldn't hold my breath folks. I think it's pretty certain we won't be in it.

Whats the point in having the licence for the Europa League (and the CL for that matter) when there is so little UEFA teams in game that half the teams in the competition in ML are fake teams full of fake players that you can't edit. Takes away any realism and it's gonna be worse this year now there is even less teams.

the english national team is not licensed anymore!? this is a first in the pes series...

totally disappointing from the licensing front, what's the point of having the UEFA licences and then playing with non licensed or missing clubs?

Looks like we are getting some more Licenses though. Just hope that it's not only more Brazilian clubs.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv have announced on their website that they'll be the only Israeli team appearing in PES 2015. They're not listed above, so it does indeed look like more teams will be added as part of the day 1 datapack.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Whats the point. Its like saying you have the license for the Belgian league and only having two Beligain teams in the game. You have the license to use the UEFA badge and thats about all it amounts to.

Can't believe not even one SPL team in there. Not even Celtic F*F*S. Would love to play "myClub" but My club arent frickin in it. I held off for PES thinking at last a PES game thats good. Looks like this will be swapped for Fifa 15 until PES16... or maybe a decent Option File done by the fans who seem to do a better job in a few months than Konami take to do in about 7 years. If they do any future updates, i hope they add more national teams... The have never had a huge European selection. I know the teams ain't great but the Asian section is filled with shoddy teams. I'd like to see the likes of Albania, San Marino, Iceland, Armenia, Estonia added. More is better for me.

On the club front, i noticed that everyone is unhappy about Celtic being removed but surely there must be a reason? To not even have a fake Celtic or on the last DLC rings bells for me. I doubt one day someone got out of bed and thought they'd delete Celtic for a laugh...
FC Basel is another mystery... They were champions of Switzerland but Grasshoppers were added instead? Also, Besiktas, Fenerbache and Dynamo Kiev going AWOL is disappointing...

One of my main problems with Konami is the lack of info on this front. If there is a legit reason why these teams have been cut then just tell the fans...

What do you think?
