Rachid ‘Usmakabyle’ Tebane wins PES 2016 World Finals

Rachid ‘Usmakabyle’ Tebane of France is the PES 2016 World Champion after winning the PES League World Finals which took place in Milan, Italy on May 27 and May 28.

He beat Brazilian Champion GuiFera15 4-3 in the final which was played live on stage at the UEFA Champions Festival infant of thousands of spectators. After also winning the PES 2015 PES World Finals in Brazil last year, Usmakabyle makes history in becoming the first ever two-time PES World Champion.

For winning the tournament, Usmakabyle received 15.000 EURO with Guifera15 winning 5.000 EURO. Both players also got to play PES 2016 pitch-side before the UEFA Champions League Final before watching the match live from the San Siro. Third placed player Colthirst of Panama finished third in the tournament and received 3.000 EURO.

UK entrant Dex ‘Ambidextrous’ Kord was eliminated on penalties by Guifera15 at the quarter final stage. Despite having the better of the match and several good chances to score, he was unable to find a breakthrough and the match finished 0-0 after extra time. He was then unable to recover from missing the first penalty in the shoot-out as Guifera15 scored all five of his to progress.
