Konami cements its Premium Partner status with FC Barcelona, by donating $100,000 to the club’s FB Barcelona Foundation charity. PLUS: Barcelona Legends are heading to myClub!
It’s always good to see when video games impact people’s quality of life for the better – and PES has brought about precisely that, in the form of a $100,000 donation to the Barcelona Foundation charity. Konami President Tomotado Tashiro spoke about the donation, saying “the club’s pledge to work with the young and vulnerable is one we admire greatly, and we look forward to seeing their acclaimed ‘FutbolNet’ system growing globally with our support”.
This is thanks to Barcelona FC’s 3 year deal with Konami, which secures Camp Nou stadium exclusivity for PES and prominent in-game representation for the world-famous club going forward. This donation also acts as a celebration of the upcoming El Clasico match next weekend, and duly signifies Konami’s support in this crucial fixture.
An upcoming myClub campaign aptly illustrates PES’s relationship with Barcelona FC; from December 1st, users will be able to utilise Special Agents for the chance to sign past Barcelona FC Legends! There are 22 in total, and include the likes of Ronaldinho, Puyol, G Lineker and T Henry. Check out the header image to see the full roster!
