UK Main Event Announced – Rankings Cut Off Date Set

As the PES Rankings 2008-09 Season draws to a close, we can today announce the cut-off date for the end of the league, at which point the top 64 will be invited down to the UK Main Event to decide the PES Rankings 2009 Champion and crown the best player in the UK.

Midnight on July 5th will be the date at which the qualifying league table will be calculated meaning that the top 64 players after that date will be invited to the UK Main Event - to be held on Saturday 1st August 2009.

The venue for the UK Main event is still being kept under wraps as the final few details are ironed out, although we can confirm the prizes for the event. Aside from deciding the UK Champion and the UK Main Event winner, these two people will be lucky enough to qualify for the PES European Championships in France later in the year. The overall winner of PES Rankings will receive an amazon voucher to the tune of £1500, with the runner up of Rankings collecting a £500 voucher.

The top eight places in the UK Main Event itself will also get vouchers, with 8th-5th place getting £50, 4th and 3rd earning £150, 2nd getting £400 and the winner of the UK Main Event bagging an amazon voucher worth £1000.

This isn’t the end however - all players invited to compete will each receive a goody bag worth £150, bringing the total prize fund given out that day to just over £13,500. It’s by far and away the biggest prize pool ever offered for a season finale and it’s based on your feedback! After sifting through the user surveys from previous events, bigger and better prizes was one of the most popular comments from you all - so we hope this illustrates our desire to make these PES Rankings offline events unmissable.
