PES Rankings Weekly Roundup

At the beginning of each week, the Rankings run is conducted - which means the system goes through every fixture and calculates the rankings for every player. If you've been playing in some big events, it is only on Monday that you'll see how many places you've gained on the Rankings Table.

So who has gained the most ground this week? Wallace should certainly be pleased with himself, as he shot up 57 places after winning the Glasgow Play.com tournament on Sunday. This event was held at HMV Gamerbase, on the PS3, with randomly allocated teams to keep things interesting. As well as the points Wallace picked up here, he also took home the prize for first place, a £100 Play.com voucher. Second place went to Todd1987, who took home a £50 Play.com voucher after losing to Wallace in the final match of the event.

Special mention must go to DiegoMaradona10 who reached the semi-finals, only to go out by one goal to our runner up. With the games he won, he earned enough points to climb 33 places and join the top 50 on the PES Rankings table!

Throughout the season we also keep an eye out for people trying to cheat the system, through entering false results or creating fake events. This weekend the team spotted a rather extreme example of this, with results such as 99-1 and 97-0 being entered in an event with just three players.
We want PES Rankings to be a fair environment for all, which means we do check up on any suspicious activity. All the fixtures in this event were voided, so will not count towards these players' Rankings score.

This week we have the first Official Event for the PC, taking place tonight! More information is available here. Official events offer more rankings points than the unofficial events, so this is a good chance for PC players to start moving up the Rankings table.

There are also spaces to fill in Thursday night's Win 100 PES Points in which the winner takes home 100 PES Points for use in the store. PES Rankings recently announced their January sale, with up to 50% off on some items, so now's a great time to earn yourself some extra points and check out the prizes available now!

Then at the beginning of next week, we have the next Casual Nights event, on Monday 25th January, for the PS3. Event information here: http://www.pesrankings.com/event/7490/
The premise of the Casual Nights series is simple; casual players can turn up and play as many games as they like during the three hour long event, and at the end, the person who has won the most games bags a £50 Play.com voucher! Casual players are those who are either new to PES Rankings, or those ranked below 50, with less than 30 PES Rankings games on their record.
