graday: “What you can expect from me..."

Most of you will have seen that I was recently appointed as a PES Fan News Editor, along with Sam1036 and Fury. Firstly, I want to wish my two new compadres the best in their new roles - and assure you guys that I’m here to pass on my unbiased thoughts. I’m going to give you what I see, what I feel and what I think - whether it is critical of, or praises what Konami brings to our consoles and PCs.

I don’t expect you to agree with all, or indeed any, of the content that I post on PES Fan in future. For every comment of praise or failure I write, I’m expecting numerous counter arguments - that’s your prerogative, and I welcome it. My word isn’t gospel, my thoughts are my own and I welcome you to challenge me at every opportunity. Discussion is the key - if you have something to say, no matter how small, then I want to hear it.

My opinions will have many flaws, and I’m hoping that you open my eyes to the little nooks and crannies of PES that I’ve missed over the years, just as I hope to enlighten one or two of you - and bring you the best up-to-date news. We can all learn a little more, and I look forward to doing so.

I’m PES through and through. I’m only 24 but games have been in my life in a big way since I was old enough to choose my own Christmas presents. I started on the NES and have moved with change ever since. ISS through to PES, a few helpings of FIFA along the way and also a couple of Niche titles (the comical Red Card and the reinvented Sensible Soccer, amongst others) - throw in managerial simulations, portable games and the more recent mobile apps... then you have an idea of my experience.



Do I like PES 2010? Yes. Is it the best PES game that I’ve played? No. I’m not going to go down the usual street of defining when the series peaked - but, I can honestly say that I believe that we are on the cusp of something significant in PES 2011. We’ve seen the stills, read the press release and had a taste of the in-game visuals... All were released with such a swagger, surely this is what we’ve been waiting for? - The recent Tweets suggest so, what're your thoughts?

Finally, something for you to think about: The Goal of the Month thread has recently been reopened, which sent me on a train of thought... What one goal has had the most emotion for you? - It doesn’t need to be a crisp 40 yard volley, or great one-touch build up play. It just needs to be significant to you... as always - videos are more than welcome.
