On the 7th and 15th May we ran UEFA Champions League Festival offline tournaments which were held in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London. The winner from each event went through to an online final to decide the UK Champions League tournament winner!

Our UK Champions League tournament winner was bf95cf who played in the Manchester offline tournament and will now go on to the European event in Hyde Park this Saturday 28th May.

We caught up with our winner to ask him a few questions about his recent events and the upcoming final...

1. How long have you been playing events on PES Rankings?
I have been playing PES Rankings since January this year.

2. How did you get into PES Rankings?
I found out about it after getting the game for a Christmas present and playing PES for a few years and seeing flyers.

3. What do you like most about PES Rankings?
The community spirit and banter that goes on in between games as well as obviously challenging other players I would have never met.

4. Who are your favourite players to play against?
I enjoy playing LeeOMac, Hav23, and Akis01.

5. What team and tactics did you use to win the Manchester event and online event?
I used Real Madrid throughout and every game was different, so I had to alter tactics according to opponent.

6. Who were your toughest opponents at the Manchester event?
Akis was very hard to beat but I managed a nice little 2-1 win and obviously in the final Hav23 was a very good player.

7. From winning the offline event in Manchester you are now guaranteed a seat at the Main Event. Are you looking forward to this and how well do you think you will do?
Yes, I can not wait, and everyone is in with a chance. I'm going in with an open mind after winning this event which shows you don't have to be in the top 10 rankings to win national events.

8. Other than yourself who would you like to win the Main Event?
I would be happy for anyone to win, Hav23 seemed a great guy down in Manchester and was as gracious in defeat as he was in victory.

9. What team do you support?
Newcastle United

10. Who do you want to win the Champions League Final, Barcelona or Manchester United?
Manchester United, I may not like them particularly domestically but they are English and I would rather that they won.

11. Are you doing anything to prepare for the final of the UEFA Champions League Festival tournament?
I am practicing and just making sure I enjoy the game to be honest. I think if you enjoy playing you always play your best, also just trying to look for new passages of play I could use.
