Free-To-Play PES currently in development?

An article posted on NOWGamer.com suggests that Konami have something new up their sleeve for the PES series, in the form of a Free-To-Play PES game, which is currently in development.

Executive Producer, Shinji Enamoto, has been noted as making the statement in response to a question that asked what steps Konami are taking in order to keep PES competitive in such a demanding games market: "Even in Japan, the free to play market is growing, so we do understand the need for a free to play Pro Evo game," he explained, and went on to say "We have been investigating it, and we'll be making an announcement on this soon."

It doesn't end there, apparently this elite meeting was the setting for discussions based on the finer details of PES 2012, including the enhanced facial animations that can be seen in the new screen shots and videos, as well as improved player control and even the possibilties of landing more official licenses.

The intricacies are under wraps at this point in time but, judging by this news, you can be sure that Konami are looking at improving things off the pitch, as well as on.
