Congratulations to The_Greek who wins this years Main Event. A fantastic performance saw him win every game culminating in a superb final victory over footimaster who finishes runner up for the 2nd year running. He also has finished top of this years rankings giving a total winnings today of over £2k
Both players will go on to represent the UK at the world finals in Mallorca this September.

Today sees the top 64 PES players in the country competing to be the champion and represent the UK in the world finals.
Current champion Leng Jay is here to defend his crown...who will take it this year.

Both the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines are closed this weekend for engineering works. This means that there is no access to Wembley Park via the tube this weekend at all.

UK Main Event Contenders

In 9 days the UK's best 64 PES players will descend on Wembley Stadium for this years UK PES Grand Finals. Months of competition have led to this and they will all fight it out for thousands of pounds worth of prizes.
Ahead of this years finals I caught up with a few of the main contenders to get their views on the biggest PES tournament in the UK. Trying to uncover how they prepare for such an event and try and get you an insight into their successful formations.

Doors open at 9am for player registration, and those arriving early enough will be able to go on a tour of the stadium before the event begins.

Main Event 2010 - Travel Details

This year's Main Event is taking place at Wembley Stadium, in the South East Pitch View Room on Level 3.
Parking is available in the Green Car Park, at a cost of £18 per car. We strongly advise you use public transport to the venue as the Car Parks are not run by Wembley Stadium.

Def Jam Rapstar at the Main Event 2010!

The Main Event prizes were recently announced, with prizes for the PES Rankings overall winner as well. For the first time, the winners of the Main Event and PES Rankings Season 2009/2010 will both qualify for the PES World Championships too.
As a bonus for this year's Main Event attendees, we will also have Konami's upcoming music game Def Jam Rapstar available to try out!

Not only will she be handing out the prizes at the end of the day, she will also be available for signings and photos with those lucky enough to be at the event.

This Sunday sees the North v South finals, held in HMV Gamerbase in the London Trocadero Centre!
Representing the North we have our Glasgow finalists, danny28986 and Marko9Gardinic, and Manchester finalists, shotzsn3 and iGod91. Representing the South: Reading finalists Footimaster and Oz Idris, and London finalists Cesc and MazIdris.

Celebrity attendance at the Main Event

Throughout the season, we're always moving with one goal in mind, the Main Event.
Last year's Main Event took place at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United FC. This year we're going one better, and the event is being hosted at Wembley, home of the national team!
Also last year, we had one of the UK's hottest young models in attendance - Rosie Jones.
We know this went down very well with a number of you, and so we were wondering who you would like to attend this year's Main Event.

This week, PES Rankings have announced that the award for November's Admin of the Month has been won by DannyHTD. Alongside this award, he also wins £100 Play.com vouchers, as a thank you for his hard work so far. Over the past months, DannyHTD has been involved in organising and running Play Local events in Reading. These events have proven popular with some of the top players on PES Rankings, including xtrap, who we recently announced as November's Player of the Month, and the first to qualify for a seat at the Main Event.

Ah, the Main Event. The crème de la crème of UK PES championships. Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, was chosen as the venue of last year's Main Event, and it served as a fantastic location for the day. But we wanted to go one better this year - so we snatched up Wembley instead.
Yup, Wembley Stadium, home of the England national team, known across the globe as one of the biggest and best stadiums around – with a capacity second highest in Europe and the only 90-thousand seater found in the world with every seat under cover, we thought Wembley was a fitting choice to host the PES Rankings Season 5 Main Event on 24th July.
