On Saturday the UK’s best PES players descended upon Hampden Park for the 2nd biggest event of the season, only behind the UK Championships. The North Leg of the North v South was being held in Scotland for the first time although it was to be a tale of an English invasion as both finalists were from South of the border

There's just over a week to go until the Northeners have their chance to show what they're made of at the North vs South: Hampden Park event on 20th November!

North vs South is back this year, taking place in London and Glasgow. This year is the first time we have held a large event in Scotland, so what better place to hold it than Hampden Park?

You will need to purchase a ticket for just £10 for the event you wish to compete in. Both events will be taking place on the xbox 360, and there will be £400 in prizes

Congratulations to Cesc who is the 2010 Play.com North Vs South Champion after beating Footimaster in a tense final.

The South proved they really are the best at PES 2010 with both finalists coming from London. The Southerners also beat Glasgow in the 2 vs 2 doubles final.

Well done to all players who took part over the past few weeks and congratulations again to Cesc for winning his first major trophy and claiming the £1000 Play.com sponsored prize.

Play.com North Vs South Final - Live Update

Here we are in London at the final of the play.com North Vs South Final. 8 Players are going to be competing for a £2000 prize pool.

Representing the North we have our Glasgow finalists, danny28986 and Marko9Gardinic, and Manchester finalists, shotzsn3 and iGod91. Representing the South: Reading finalists Footimaster and Oz Idris, and London finalists Cesc and MazIdris.

Players have arrived and are just warming up with some practise matched. The tournament will be starting shortly, I'll update with event links once we start so you can follow the results as the come in.

We will update this with Live Updates as the tournament progresses.

North v South took place yesterday in four locations across the country: Glasgow, Reading, Manchester and London, with 106 players attending in total.

The PESRankings team were at Manchester, providing live coverage here on PES Rankings as well as on the PESFan forums.

Its the North Vs South events today. 4 Events in Manchester, Reading, Glasgow and London with players all competing at once. The top 2 from each location will win a place at the final in 2 weeks time in London to compete for a £1000 prize and win an automatic seat into the main event.

Players are just arriving at the venues now and the events will be underway soon.

PES Rankings Weekly Round up

The biggest mover up the Rankings table this week was pure domination, who moved up 666 places after reaching the quarter-finals of the February PESFan Championship and the semi-finals of the London Play.com event where he lost to Footimaster, the event winner. Pure domination also won the Player of the Week, and 250 PES Points!

In a little over six weeks time PESRankings will see the return of the popular North v South Tournament.

This year NvS will take place SIMULTANEOUSLY on March 28th at 4 venues around the country:

Manchester
London
Reading
Glasgow
