North v South North Event Round Up

On Saturday the UK’s best PES players descended upon Hampden Park for the 2nd biggest event of the season, only behind the UK Championships. The North Leg of the North v South was being held in Scotland for the first time although it was to be a tale of an English invasion as both finalists were from South of the border

Interview with PESRankings Champ The Greek

On Saturday The Greek realised his ambition and won the PESRankings UK Main event and finished the season on top of the PESRankings, ranking him as the UK's best PES player. I had the privilege of interviewing the UK's new number one PES player on his momentous victory.

The Greek Wins Main Event 2010

Congratulations to The_Greek who wins this years Main Event. A fantastic performance saw him win every game culminating in a superb final victory over footimaster who finishes runner up for the 2nd year running. He also has finished top of this years rankings giving a total winnings today of over £2k

Both players will go on to represent the UK at the world finals in Mallorca this September.

UK Main Event Contenders

In 9 days the UK's best 64 PES players will descend on Wembley Stadium for this years UK PES Grand Finals. Months of competition have led to this and they will all fight it out for thousands of pounds worth of prizes.

Ahead of this years finals I caught up with a few of the main contenders to get their views on the biggest PES tournament in the UK. Trying to uncover how they prepare for such an event and try and get you an insight into their successful formations.

Cesc is the North Vs South 2010 Play.com Winner

Congratulations to Cesc who is the 2010 Play.com North Vs South Champion after beating Footimaster in a tense final.

The South proved they really are the best at PES 2010 with both finalists coming from London. The Southerners also beat Glasgow in the 2 vs 2 doubles final.

Well done to all players who took part over the past few weeks and congratulations again to Cesc for winning his first major trophy and claiming the £1000 Play.com sponsored prize.

Play.com North Vs South Final - Live Update

Here we are in London at the final of the play.com North Vs South Final. 8 Players are going to be competing for a £2000 prize pool.

Representing the North we have our Glasgow finalists, danny28986 and Marko9Gardinic, and Manchester finalists, shotzsn3 and iGod91. Representing the South: Reading finalists Footimaster and Oz Idris, and London finalists Cesc and MazIdris.

Players have arrived and are just warming up with some practise matched. The tournament will be starting shortly, I'll update with event links once we start so you can follow the results as the come in.

We will update this with Live Updates as the tournament progresses.

The 12 days of Rankings returns!

The festive season is nearly up on us again, and as you requested....voted last seasons most popular pesrankings series of online events....the twelve days of rankings is back!

You should know how it all works by now, but if you dont its very simple.

12 days, 12 events, 12 prizes.

Throughout December twelve events will appear on pesrankings.com. Six for PS3, five for 360 and one for PC.

The first offline event of the new PESrankings season took place on Sunday 25th of October in Glasgow. With the clocks going back one hour, admin Marko decided against telling the players in the hope that they would turn up an hour early instead of turning up late! Crisps was the unfortunate player who failed to realise, calling Marko at 10.30am to ask why he wasnt at the venue yet even though it didnt start until 12pm. Oops!

The New Season is Almost Underway - Glasgow, Reading and Manchester Events

PESRankings is set for it's biggest ever season, and you can be part of it by either coming along to your local events and by playing online. These events are open to everyone and anyone - so don't hesitate to come along, no matter your skill level.

The season gets off to a flyer with events in Glasgow, Reading and Manchester. The best thing of all though is that all these events are free to enter!
