PES 2012 First News - Developer Blog with Seabass

Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka, the man tasked with masterminding the development of the PES series, has finally lifted the lid on PES 2012 in an 8 minute video blog. For some, it may only seem like minutes since we were invited to take a seat on the PES 2011 hype train, and for others the wait for 2012 may have seemed like a lifetime. Either way, we finally have a taste of what to expect in this year's final build.

KONAMI details focus for forthcoming Pro Evolution Soccer simulation

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has outlined its ambitious plans and focus for PES 2012, which it will release in Autumn 2011 for PlayStation®3, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Windows PC, Wii, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) and PlayStation®2, and which again boasts exclusive use of the UEFA Champions LeagueTM & UEFA Europa LeagueTM licences.

Q&A With Seabass

This weekend at the PES World Finals PES Fan had the opportunity to be involved in a Q&A session with Seabass and members of the team. Here are a few of the questions and answers from that session.

Last year you were not totally satisfied with PES 2010, how do you feel now with PES 2011?

I am confident we have done what we wanted to do and also feel that we have created what will prove to be a good base for future development. I am waiting to hear what the fans think in anticipation.

Seabass Master League Online Interview

Konami have release a new video interview with Seabass where he talks about the new Master League online mode.

It's nearly 8 minutes long and he talks about how it differs from the offline mode, how it's played and there's some screens of the game in there as well.

EGTV post Japan PES Tour Video

It's been a while in coming, but Eurogamer TV have uploaded their video showing the tour of the PES Studios back in May.

Quite a lot of the content has been seen before, but there's some new footage including a rather strange method of audio capture, and interviews with Seabass and Jon Murphy.

IGN bagged a sit down interview with Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka at the recent tour of the PES Studios in Japan. It's a short interview, but a couple of interesting questions about Speed Stars and difficulty levels.

New Seabass Interview

The official PES 2010 website has posted up a new video interview conducted with head of WEP productions Seabass Takatsuka.

During the interview he reveals his aims when developing PES 2010 and offers a little more insight to his world away from PES. He also answers several fan questions, including quite a few from PESFan members.

Gaming site Eurogamer have posted an nice article (if at a ridiculously early time) entitled 'PES 2010: The Road to Redemption?', and it's a jolly good read.

"'It is really up to the user, if he wants to change the settings, to customise their playing style and tactics, that's all up to the user and we do not blame the user. If he doesn't even touch a single setting, he will still enjoy PES 2010.'

To a degree he's right. For my money, PES 2010 is the most fluid, instinctive and enjoyable PES probably since PES5."

Konami Blog: Seabass Speaks About The Demo

Seabass has updated the Konami blog to clarify some of the concerns and worries about the demo version of PES 2010 which was released a couple of weeks ago.

After Naoya Hatsumi posted an entry the other day regarding the demo, Seabass goes on to say improvements have since been made to the ball physics and consequently the game speed has been reduced.

Seabass Explains Tactical Sliders to PESFan

Along with the players and media at this weekend’s European PES Championships in France was Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka, with PESFan among those that had the opportunity to sit down with the legendary producer at a roundtable event on Saturday.

He asked various members of the press about their feelings on the way the series should be taken. Part of the discussion involved PES 2010’s inclusion of tactical sliders, and why such a feature was chosen for the new game.

PS3 Wands Coming to PES?

More news coming out of another interview with Seabass!

This time he's confirmed to IGN that motion controllers such as Natal and PlayStation 3's motion wands will be incorporated in future instalments of the game. With the success of the Wii version, it will certainly be interesting to see how these technologies could be applied to the main PES games in the next few years.

Future PES' to go download only?

MCV have published an article on an interview conducted by GamesTM with Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka, and in the interview Seabass admits that downloadable PES may be the future.

Of course nothing is concrete and this may just be a throwaway remark, but it's certainly intriguing as how PES may shape up in the future.

WENB Interview Seabass

Seabass has been a busy boy. After presenting yesterdays press conference he's now playing people at his own game and conducting more interviews.

One member of WENB is attending Gamescom and was lucky enough to interview Seabass. You can read the interview as well as being able to see the rather strange looking t-shirt Gari was given as a gift!.

Meristation Interview Seabass at Gamescom

Pro Evolution Soccer creator Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka is currently in Germany attending the Gamescom convention. Earlier today he was on stage presenting PES 2010 for the first time to the public.

Sometime after the Konami Press Conference had finished, Spanish website Meristation managed to bag an interview with him.
