2 v 2. Unable to choose teammate.

Caused by being in a ranked match. Choosing your teammate is only available for Friendly (Playstation 3) or Player (Xbox 360) matches.

Ranked matches are always paired randomly to avoid problems with stat peddling.


Cannot find my registration code.

Registration codes are only required for Windows versions of the game and PES2008 for the Playstation 3. If you have another version of the game, you will not need one.

If you have one of the versions mentioned, the registration code can be found on the back of the manual.


PES2009 Service is unavailable at this time. Please try again later.

The server is down, try the service again in a few hours.

Are the servers down?

You can check here http://www.pesfan.com/peslive/ to see if the server for your system is currently experiencing problems. If the symbol is green, the servers are working the way they should, if the symbol is not green there is a problem and you should check again in a few hours.


I start a network game and then it cuts out.

This is a problem with Virgin Media. If you are a user of Virgin Media, you need to contact a high level support technician at Virgin.


Code 80010029 when loading up.

1. On the Playstation 3 Main Menu, go to the Game Menu, and then Game Data Utility
2. Delete the PES2009 Game Data
3. Reload PES2009


I only have a memory card and don't have room for updates.

Unfortunately if your Xbox 360 lacks the drive space to hold the updates, you will not be able to download the 1.4 patch and therefore will not be able to play online.


Edit mode won't allow me to transfer players into a team.

make sure you have created enough room in the team by transferring players out before you transfer some in. Each team only has limited player slots.


Why doesn't my team have the correct kits

The latest version of kits available can be obtained by going to your games System Settings and selecting Download, however how many kits that can be updated is restrained by licensing issues.


Where can I get an option file?

Konami does not offer support for option files.

Unable to transmit using UDP port 3658/5730 - PES2009

The UDP port needed for playing PES online is being blocked by either the router or the Internet Service Provider.

Router - visit www.portforward.com and follow the instructions for your router.

ISP - contact your ISP and ask them to have this port unblocked.
