I can't substitute my players properly. They are removed and my Playstation 2 crashes.

1. Press start.
2. Go to the formations menu.
3. Carry out the substitutions.
4. Exit and continue playing.
5. After the substitutions have been made, press start.
6. Go to substitutions on the quick menu.
7. Exit and continue playing.


Cannot find my registration code.

Registration codes are only required for Windows versions of the game and PES2008 for the Playstation 3. If you have another version of the game, you will not need one.

If you have one of the versions mentioned, the registration code can be found on the back of the manual.


I can get to the match but my controller doesn't respond.

What is happening is that the L2 button is malfunctioning. As the other controller buttons are pressed, the game is only seeing the L2 button.

Either make sure the L2 button is unstuck or try using a different controller.


How do I load my own music into PES2009 / PES2010?

Copy the MP3s into the Music folder on your Playstation 3.

Using the Playstation 3 menu (under Music), create a playlist called KONAMI_PES. Make sure there is no space at the end of the playlist name.

Edit mode won't allow me to transfer players into a team.

make sure you have created enough room in the team by transferring players out before you transfer some in. Each team only has limited player slots.


How do I register for a Konami ID and Game ID

Visit https://id.konami.net/ and click Konami ID Quick Registration.


I start a network game and then it cuts out.

This is a problem with Virgin Media. If you are a user of Virgin Media, you need to contact a high level support technician at Virgin.


Unable to transmit using UDP port 3658/5730

The UDP port needed for playing PES online is being blocked by either the router or the Internet Service Provider.

I can't change my Game ID so someone else can play.

1. Go to the top menu and scroll down. Select System Settings.
2. Scroll down again and select Auto Login Settings. Change this to 'off'
3. Restart the game. When you next select Network it will ask you which Game ID to log in with.

Copying my saves from one PC to another

The standard save directory for PES2009 is in the My Documents folder under KONAMI

If you wish to transfer these saves to another computer simply copy them onto a removable media and then place them back in the same location but on your new PC.


2 v 2. Unable to choose teammate.

Caused by being in a ranked match. Choosing your teammate is only available for Friendly (Playstation 3) or Player (Xbox 360) matches.

Ranked matches are always paired randomly to avoid problems with stat peddling.


Are the servers down?

You can check here http://www.pesfan.com/peslive/ to see if the server for your system is currently experiencing problems. If the symbol is green, the servers are working the way they should, if the symbol is not green there is a problem and you should check again in a few hours.


Some buttons not functioning after changing Operating System

This seems to be a problem with the installation of DirectX missing some Direct Input files.

You can solve this by reinstalling DirectX here:

Caused by the date and time on the Playstation 3 being incorrect. The time and date needs resetting.

Why am I not appearing in the online rankings?

Players receive a ranking on the console for playing matches, and are then assigned to a division. When you log on, you will receive a message telling you if you have been placed into a division.

Divisions are updated weekly, so it may take up to a week for you to be placed.

PES 2010 is currently not available for download, and as yet we have no further details on when it will become available.


Do I need to register my game online?

You don't need to register your copy of PES 2010 online, unless you are planning to play in the online mode of the game.


How can I play against my friend online?

To play against a friend online, you have two options:

- Select a VS match and pick a lobby. Arrange to meet your friend in that lobby, and then select them to play the game against.

- Create a community and set a password so that only selected people who know the password can enter.

How can I change my options when playing a Rankings match?

You cannot change your options before a Rankings match as the settings for the match are set to default to make it fairer for both players.

Only in a friendly match can you change the options.
